A new spoke will be added to Tassis Group’s culinary wheel as Mulga Bill’s opens February 14

Tassis Group is gearing up for the launch of its new casual riverside dining hotspot, Mulga Bill’s Kitchen & Bar, opening at the foot of the Kangaroo Point Bridge on February 14.

Located at the Landing Plaza – where the Kangaroo Point Bridge meets the entry of the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens (Alice Street) – the venue will offer a casual riverside retreat for cyclists, commuters and casual visitors alike to park up, unwind, and soak in the beauty of Brisbane City.

Mulga Bill’s will be the first of Tassis Group’s venues to cater crowds from early risers through night owls, open 7 days from 6am until late, and destined to become the Brisbane go-to for morning coffees, leisurely lunches and relaxed riverside dinners.

In another collaboration with long-time partners Allo Creative and Clui Design, Mulga Bill’s will bring the fun to Brisbane’s newest pedestrian bridge. Perched at the edge of the Brisbane River, the 60-seater venue spans indoor and outdoor, featuring plush mustard booth seating, organic textures, and skylights that flood the interior with natural light. The result is a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for casual gatherings and moments of relaxation, where guests can enjoy both the vibrant energy of the space and the serene riverside views.

Of course, Mulga Bill’s will exude the same signature hospitality experience that underpins all Tassis venues, guaranteed under the leadership of venue manager Alex Abson who previously served as the manager of the riverside’s iconic Massimo Restaurant & Bar. Abson has been an integral part of the Tassis Group since 2022, celebrated for his ability to facilitate seamless operations, deliver exceptional service at every opportunity, and ensure every guest has a memorable dining experience.

Working with Abson, from behind the pass, is Head Chef Riccardo Andrini (formerly of Yamas Greek + Drink) who has curated an all day dining menu that showcases premium local produce prepared with Mediterranean influence. Breakfast highlights include the woodfired eggs, açai and their signature brekky pizza, while all day dining mentions extend to woodfired paella, a range of fresh seafood prepared tapas-style, as well as an extensive selection of gourmet woodfired pizzas.

Other talking points of the menu will include the ‘Pizza Power Hour’ – a daily special slinging $20 woodfired pizzas for one-hour only, from 3:30pm until 4:30pm – plus the $50 7-piece ‘Joyride’ banquet available 7 days between 11am and 6pm and includes a selection of tapas, your choice of pizza, lamb ribs, barramundi plus chef’s dessert.

A cleverly considered beverage menu also pedals alongside the main menu, featuring everything from coffees, smoothies and breakfast mimosas, to mocktails and cocktails plus a crowd-pleasing selection of beer, wine and spirits. The list has been designed to complement the Mediterranean cuisine, whilst still offering easy-going options to be enjoyed in good company while soaking in the stunning surroundings.

“Mulga Bill’s is a little bit of fun,” says Tassis, “and we’re excited for this adventure into more relaxed and casual dining – it’s totally new for us. We look forward to welcoming people on their way to work, those out spending time with their family, visiting at the end of the day or to take in the beauty of the night”.

Set to become an iconic dining destination, Mulga Bill’s will be open 7 days to enjoy casual riverside dining, from 6am until late. Learn more – www.mulgabills.com.au
